  • Senator Grassley blasts major media for targeting real whistleblowers and their stories.
  • The reporting failed to mention key facts about FBI handling of Arctic Frost.
  • Grassley credits Trump-era officials for better document transparency than past leaders.

Senator Chuck Grassley called out reporters Glenn Thrush, Alan Feuer, and Adam Goldman for articles aiming to discredit whistleblowers exposing government misconduct.

He claimed one 2023 article tried to undercut his findings on former FBI agent Timothy Thibault’s political actions, which were later found to break the Hatch Act.

“Goldman wrote his article before knowing all the facts,” Grassley explained. He said released emails proved Thibault broke FBI rules on the Arctic Frost probe.

Another piece insisted the FBI took “normal bureaucratic steps,” but Grassley disputed it, saying proper rules were not followed.

“Was this supposed to be an opinion piece on behalf of terminated FBI agents or a real news article? Normal steps weren’t taken,” Grassley questioned.

Grassley noted that, thanks to Trump-era officials, Congress now gets oversight documents previously delayed, giving credit to Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel for their cooperation.

He also scolded coverage of the Mar-a-Lago raid for twisting his criticism, saying his full comments were left out on purpose.

The senator further accused the press of unfairly attacking whistleblowers over sharing legal subpoenas with Congress, not the press.

“To my whistleblowers: I’ll defend you. I’ll protect you. And I’ll continue to make public the records you’ve given me,” Grassley declared. “To the New York Times, ‘shame’ isn’t a strong enough word to describe these unprofessional articles.”
