January 1, Illinois Bill Challenges Parental Rights, Redefines ‘Abused Child’

Published

on

In a bold move that challenges parental rights, a bill recently introduced in Illinois seeks to redefine the term “abused child.” This new definition would encompass minors whose parents object to them receiving puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, transgender surgeries, and abortions.

House Bill 4876, introduced in early February, goes beyond just redefining the term. It also provides legal protection for doctors who prescribe these treatments to minors without parental consent. Furthermore, it empowers the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) to intervene and potentially remove children from their biological parents based on this new definition of an “abused child.”

“The State of Illinois wants to change the term of “abused child” to mean any child whose parents won’t agree to a sex change. Parental consent for puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and surgeries will not be needed! And get this. Doctors “shall not incur civil or criminal… liability.”

The legislation grants minors the same legal status as adults in terms of consenting to medical treatments and procedures related to abortion and gender transition. It states, “consent to the performance of abortion services and gender-affirming services executed by a minor is not voidable because of such minority.”

Moreover, it directs doctors who prescribe and perform such treatments and procedures to make a reasonable effort to ensure that the minor in question understands the risks and benefits. It also exempts them from any liability, either civil or criminal, for their participation in the minor’s treatment.

The bill further states, “a health care professional rendering abortion services and gender-affirming services shall not incur civil or criminal liability for failure to obtain valid consent or professional discipline for failure to obtain valid consent if the health care professional relied in good faith on representations made by the minor.”

Parents could potentially face severe consequences if DCFS deems any such abuse allegations to be warranted. Under Illinois law, child abuse — depending on the nature and severity — is classified as a criminal offense. This can range from a misdemeanor that carries a maximum sentence of one year in prison and a $2,500 fine to a felony that can result in up to $25,000 in fines and 15 years behind bars.

Why It Matters (op-ed)

This Illinois bill is a blatant attack on parental rights and a dangerous overreach by the state. Redefining “abused child” to include those whose parents object to life-altering treatments like puberty blockers and surgeries sets a terrifying precedent.

The bill not only erodes parental authority but also grants legal immunity to doctors who prescribe these treatments without consent. This emboldens medical professionals to bypass parents’ wishes, further undermining their role in their children’s lives.

The potential criminalization of parents for exercising their rights is appalling. This bill represents a slippery slope towards state control over families and must be vehemently opposed to protect parental rights and family values.

now if you have a well adjusted child. Then or when schools work on the children to convince them that they are in the wrong body! then it’s the schools word against mom’s and dads’ with a court system who sides with the left and school system. Under these rules mom’s and dad’s have no change to save there child except the moving van. Or abended the child to become a ward of the state

This change in abuse of children is nothing more than the Communist Party of Illinois to take away parental rights. This Communist regime under Joseph Bolshevik Pritzker is so horrible.

Hard to believe this is happening in America. It is amazing that propaganda put out by communist activists can convince that many convenient idiots to believe the ridiculous. If they can’t convince you to have an abortion than they’ll sterilize your children after birth and you don’t have the right to stop it!?! Boycott Illinois – don’t buy their products, hire residents, do business with their companies, or talk to their residents (they are to stupid to have a worth while conversation). How else can we isolate this madness? Close the borders, don’t let them buy property in other states, block them from social media groups, shun them at every opportunity. This is not protecting children rather it is keeping parents from protecting their children from the state that is indoctrinating them in school and harming them at every opportunity. When the government is threatening the citizens it is not longer valid and needs to be removed.

Never in my life have thought I would have seen this happening in our country! While other countries see what is happening here, we are voting in the Marxers We cannot even raise our own children with calling it abuse. I got my but beat up a few times a brother I really DID needed it. My parents taught us to respect Our GOD and SAVOR, not many adults know about HIM today, we were taught to respect the police, the firemen/women (we didn’t have women back in those days) We were taught to respect our elders, I am 70 and I still respect someone older than me, but here again, I give respect when it is earned. It is the parents that is too busy doing “their Thing” to take care of their children. The want to be a different ok let the state have them. Let the state pay for every, every, and everything that goes along with this. There has to be a cutting of place! Seems to me Ill. hads hit the quitting mark.
