January 1, Trump’s MAGA Magnetism Pulls Democrat Rep Into Faith-Driven Defection

Wyatt’s Take
- Michigan State Representative Karen Whitsett says her faith no longer aligns with the modern Democratic Party.
- She objected to policies involving gender markers on IDs and taxpayer-funded abortion support.
- Whitsett says she plans to work with the Trump administration on homeownership and economic independence for Black families.
Whitsett told reporters her decision to leave office was a spiritual choice to stand on the Word of God.
“I don’t understand how ‘Christian’ and ‘Bible’ go together with ‘Democratic Party,’” she said.
The Detroit representative previously drew criticism after meeting with Donald Trump to discuss medical freedom.
“I’m not a co-signer of crazy,” Whitsett explained regarding gender policies being forced on the public.
She said the party leaves little room for dissent and punishes members who vote for their constituents’ needs.
“I cannot support the Democratic Party,” she concluded while urging voters to think for themselves.
Wyatt Matters
Middle Americans know faith and family are the pillars of a strong nation. When a political party demands you choose its platform over your Savior, it is time to walk away.
