January 1, Trump Praises Clinton?

Published

on

Former President Donald Trump praised former President Bill Clinton’s political instincts and criticized Hillary Clinton’s 2016 election strategy in a new interview with Fox News host Mark Levin. Trump revealed details about his cordial relationship with the Clintons, including their attendance at his 2005 wedding to his current wife Melania. He also described Clinton’s love of golf and his own conversations about politics with the former president. Trump claimed that Hillary Clinton’s campaign ignored Bill’s potential as “a weapon” and instead “shut him out,” which he called a mistake. Additionally, Trump noted similarities between himself and former President Richard Nixon and criticized his own impeachment.

If you weren’t able to watch it I’ll tell you the breakdown of what happened and my thoughts on it. I think it’s always interesting to hear what former presidents have to say about each other. It’s no secret that Donald Trump and Bill Clinton had a relationship before Trump entered politics, and I’m not surprised to hear that the Clintons attended Trump’s wedding. That’s politics for you, and it just goes to show that people can have cordial relationships even if they have opposing political views. It really makes you scratch your head and think about how “real” politics is.

But what really caught my attention in this interview was Trump’s analysis of what went wrong in Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign. He pointed out that they made a big mistake by not utilizing Bill Clinton’s political instincts and natural charisma to help her campaign. I have to say that I agree with him on this point. Bill Clinton is a natural politician, and it was a mistake not to use him to his full potential. Hillary is an unlikable lady. She has the charisma of an alligator and is just as cold blooded. Bill on the other hand is a pretty likeable character, that is of course unless you REALLY know the guy and the things he has done. But, if not you might get swept up with his charm as many Americans did. Not utilizing Bill was a blunder by Hillary. I suppose her ego thought she didn’t need her husbands help.

Trump also noted that Hillary Clinton made a misstep by declining to visit Wisconsin and Michigan in the final stretch before Election Day, despite her husband’s warnings. As someone who values hard work and dedication, I have to say that I think this was a mistake as well. If you want to win an election, you have to put in the work and visit every state, even if you don’t think it’s necessary.

Trump also took a bit of time and praised Richard Nixon’s fighting spirit, noting that his biggest regret was not fighting harder during his impeachment. As someone who values individual freedom and responsibility, I have to say that I can understand where Nixon was coming from. When you’re under attack, you have to fight back with everything you’ve got, and I think Trump did just that when he faced impeachment.

I have to tell you folks I’ve been watching these clowns we call politicians for a LONG time. There is something different about Trump. We all know there is something different about the man obviously, but I mean recently. There is something different about him from this campaign compared to last. He seems more “calm”… more, “introspective”. Like a chess player who lost a battle, got humbled but studied and is ready for a rematch. I would not be surprised if you see whole new kind of tactic taken by Trump this election cycle. A more calculated campaign, and much less braggadocios. That’s my take anyway. Have a great night folks! -W
