January 1, Tensions Escalate Over Naval Power in the Arabian Sea

Wyatt’s Take
- A British nuclear-powered submarine is now patrolling the Arabian Sea after a failed Iranian missile attack.
- The HMS Anson arrived with heavy torpedoes and cruise missiles to help protect vital shipping lanes.
- The move signals a harder Western stance as tensions rise near key waterways.
The HMS Anson traveled over 5,000 miles to reach its station near the Strait of Hormuz. It is positioned to strike quickly if the conflict escalates further.
This deployment happened just before Iran launched missiles at Diego Garcia, a strategic base located nearly 2,500 miles from Iran. One missile crashed during flight while the other was shot down before reaching the target.
Iranian leaders have called the British cooperation with America an act of aggression. They warned the United Kingdom to stop supporting U.S. military operations in the region.
The British government says its goal is to degrade missile sites used to attack civilian ships. It says it does not want to be pulled into a larger regional war.
“We didn’t participate in the initial strikes, and we’re not getting drawn into the wider war,” Downing Street officials said.
British Typhoon jets also remain active in the area to help intercept drone threats. The Ministry of Defence said it is working closely with allies to keep the peace.
Wyatt Matters
Standing with allies and protecting trade routes matters when hostile regimes threaten the security of the seas. America and its partners should stay firm and keep the pressure on those who endanger innocent people and global commerce.

A once great. Power is now the military equivalent of a third world nation. Ireland could make up for centuries of injustice and invade and take over England in about two days. Pathetic. It will become the Islamic Republic of Britain in the next decade if Ireland doesn’t save them from their sure fate.
