Wyatt’s Take

  • The Supreme Court refused to hear Ghislaine Maxwell’s appeal about her criminal conviction tied to Epstein’s crimes.
  • Maxwell’s lawyer tried to use Epstein’s old deal to clear one of her charges, but the court rejected that idea.
  • Maxwell still claims she never saw Trump or Clinton do anything wrong around Epstein.

The Supreme Court dealt Ghislaine Maxwell a hard blow by refusing to hear her challenge to her conviction. She is currently serving 20 years for sex trafficking crimes connected to Jeffrey Epstein.

Her lawyer argued that Epstein’s non-prosecution deal in Florida should have protected her from at least one of her charges in New York. The Justice Department pushed back, saying no evidence showed the deal was meant to cover crimes outside Florida.

“This fight isn’t over,” Maxwell’s attorney said after the decision.

Solicitor General D. John Sauer called Maxwell’s legal argument “incorrect” and said it would not be successful.

Since her sentencing in 2022, Maxwell has looked for ways to cut her prison time. She once even appealed directly to President Trump.

Not long after going to the highest court, Maxwell was interviewed by a deputy attorney general. She said she never saw well-known figures like Trump or Clinton act “inappropriately.”

“The president was never inappropriate with anybody. In the times that I was with him, he was a gentleman in all respects,” Maxwell said.

Her lawyer also called on President Trump to see that it was wrong to make Maxwell the scapegoat for Epstein’s crimes. Trump responded, “I’m allowed to give her a pardon but nobody’s approached me with it, nobody’s asked me about it.”

After her government interview, Maxwell was moved to a lower-security prison in Texas.
