January 1, SNL Star Rushed to Hospital for Emergency Surgery

“Saturday Night Live” star Chris Kattan was hospitalized following a serious health situation that forced him to undergo emergency surgery.
Kattan, 52, was rushed to a hospital after contracting Streptococcus Pneumoniae — a severe case of pneumonia. After he arrived, medical staff determined that he had to go into emergency surgery.
The operation was successful, according to multiple reports. An unnamed source close to the actor said Kattan is “doing well.”
The comedian was previously scheduled to perform two shows at an Indiana comedy club on Friday, but the venue announced that the shows were canceled.
“Due to a medical emergency, Chris has to reschedule his shows this week,” the Market Lounge & Comedy Club in Valparaiso, Indiana said in a statement. “He is currently in the hospital and doing well but won’t be able to be on stage for a few weeks. He deeply apologizes for not being able to make it but can’t wait to come to Indiana on a date to be announced VERY soon!”
