The Ulta-Woke activists had been making mischief, too, for a long time in Philadelphia at the National Park’s George Washington House.
The information boards they are now fighting about in the reconstructed house overweighted, are in a remarkably reverse revisionist approach to history, giving Washington’s role leading the army and then being our first President, a very short stick in his own house and telling an overblown and misplaced many panel story of his slaves there. Yes, Washington owned slaves, but he also led the Army, defeated the British and was our first President.
The activists jump up and down claiming efforts to seek balance is an attempt to “whitewash” our history of slaves in the colonies, but that is false in a middle school level. None of the activists have ever told that the African American Museum is one or two blocks away and is welcome to tell the history of slaves all day long, but just not to portray an unbalanced, overweighted history of them in Washington’s house gleefully diminishing Washington’s role in the founding of our nation on National Park property.

WHAT IS THE ISSUE WITH THE TERM “WOKE”.
It began as word used by people of color . And it was used by my friends of color like a positive shake of the head. Simple. It meant you”got us”. Nothing else really. SO how and why did it become a pejorative to scorn people WHO DID GET.IT? People who thought outside the box.! It struck me asa smart and positive way of saying ”Wow! you’re not some kind of a bigot!”.
So now ,should I assume that it IS bigots who are terrified by it? Scared that “other kinds” will infiltrate the PALE AND PREFERABLE status quo? These terrified people who do not welcome others as equals or just simply people? The ones that say “THEY ARE DIFFERENT AND WE MUST FEAR THEM”(as a start).
I know I prefer my eyes wide open ! It was how I was taught from the start! And what I discovered in every group or race or ethnicity there are angels and devils, kind and callous and that you really can’t tell a book by its cover. And this..The “WOKE” will not get hit on the road of life because they will look first and judge situations with a willing and curious mind. You know who the unwoke are. Avoid them whenever you. Woke contains many different meanings. Transgender, socialism, communism, and that’s what the Democrats are pushing.
