January 1, Sabrina Carpenter’s VMA Show Sparks Controversy
Wyatt’s Take
- Sabrina Carpenter’s VMA performance turned into a loud show for LGBTQI+ activism.
- Drag queens flooded the stage with placards pushing political messages.
- Traditional values got sidelined by Hollywood’s latest display.
Former Disney star Sabrina Carpenter used her VMA Awards performance to push LGBTQI+ issues. Drag queens took over the stage, waving signs demanding acceptance and rights for different groups.
Some slogans said, “Protect trans rights,” “Support local drag,” and, “Love each other.” The show put signs in viewers’ faces, making it clear Hollywood wants to set the agenda. Carpenter’s performance followed her new album release and a music video featuring Colman Domingo in drag.
Lady Gaga took the most awards that night, with Ariana Grande and Carpenter right behind her. Women dominated the event except for Bruno Mars, who won for his team projects.
This year’s VMA show took another big step away from tradition, pushing political statements over entertainment.
Parents and families tuning in saw less music, more activism, and little respect for different opinions.
Wyatt Matters
Shows like this remind Middle Americans that values are changing fast. Sticking to what matters—faith, family, and decency—keeps communities strong even when Hollywood turns up the noise.
