January 1, Man Asks for Application, Shoots Manager
Police in Ohio say that a man shot a pizza shop manager in Columbus after asking for a job application.
The unidentified man entered a Papa John’s at about 10:15 p.m. and allegedly walked behind the counter, prompting the store manager to grab him.
At that point, the manager and the suspect started fighting over the gun before the manager was shot twice in the shoulder, police said.
A witness told police that the man had asked the manager for a job application just a few moments before the incident. The suspect allegedly attempted to rob the store, but fled the scene without stealing anything.
The manager is reportedly at Grant Medical Center in stable condition.
