Democratic Councilwoman Nithya Raman joined a small minority to vote against an anti-camping zone in Venice.

The area has become a magnet for trouble, leaving local taxpayers terrified for their lives.

The encampment has been the site of numerous assaults and constant police activity.

Even the liberal mayor’s office criticized the move, claiming the councilwoman has voted against hundreds of cleanups in the past.

“It was absolutely crazy. I watched a guy get shot and killed across the street,” one resident said.

“These are individuals that have been offered alternatives again and again and again and are choosing to remain encamped on our streets,” Councilwoman Traci Park said.

Despite billions in spending, the homeless population in the state has jumped 60 percent since 2015.
