Wyatt’s Take

  • Jared Kushner is back in the peace talks, helping try to end the war in Gaza.
  • His fast action is renewing hope for peace between Israel and Arab nations.
  • Many are watching to see if this leads to more Middle East breakthroughs.

Jared Kushner, who helped broker the Abraham Accords, has returned to the center stage as President Trump pushes for a peace deal in Gaza. His behind-the-scenes work is being credited by senior officials with getting talks this far.

“I don’t want to let this moment pass, Mr. President, with also noting the incredible work of Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, they’re an incredible team… They’ve done a great job on your behalf, Mr. President. They deserve a tremendous amount of credit,” said Secretary of State Marco Rubio in a Cabinet meeting.

Kushner’s involvement surprised many, as he and his wife Ivanka had chosen not to rejoin the White House for a second term. Meanwhile, Trump named Charles Kushner, Jared’s father, as ambassador to France.

Before this, Kushner made headlines when his firm partnered with Saudi investors to buy the video game giant Electronic Arts. This deal got mixed reactions, with some gamers hopeful for less woke content and others skeptical. “EA CEO Andrew Wilson has stated in an email statement to staff that the company’s ‘values and [its] commitment to players and fans around the world remain unchanged,'” one gaming news outlet reported, noting doubts about the changes.

After the purchase, Kushner joined Witkoff for a diplomatic trip to Egypt, aiming to secure the release of hostages as part of the new agreement. He then met with Egypt’s President El-Sisi and Israel’s cabinet, gaining their support in record time.

“This all came off of the archetype of the Abraham Accords, which is really much more about business and integration of the region, financially and economically and with a political surface to it,” said former White House chief of staff Steve Bannon.

Though fast and effective, Kushner reportedly does not plan to become a full-time advisor. He remains in Israel to oversee the deal, visiting the Western Wall with Ivanka. The agreement still faces uncertainty, and American officials warn it could fall apart at any stage.

“There’s still, you know, just a lot of ways that this can go wrong,” a senior US official said. “So we’re staying on top of the details to make sure everyone fulfills their obligations and that any misunderstandings are quickly discussed and adjudicated…”

Keep your eyes open — this could mean a lasting change for the region, or it could all fall through. Either way, America’s heartland knows that strong leadership and quick action can make or break outcomes on the world stage.
