Kamala Harris ‘Perpetually Unprepared’
ON THIS DAY IN HISTORY…
1967: 25,000 US and South Vietnamese troops launch Operation Junction City against the Viet Cong. Largest US airborne assault since WWII
Critics blasted Vice President Kamala Harris over her trip to Germany, saying that her press conference proved that she was “perpetually unprepared” to address the ongoing situation on the Ukraine-Russia border.
Over the weekend, Harris traveled to Munich to meet with several European allies hoping to secure a united front should Russia invade Ukraine. She met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and promised “severe” economic sanctions if Russia invades.
A clip from a press briefing has made the rounds on social media, with critics calling her remarks “word salad.”
“I mean, listen guys, we are talking about the potential for war in Europe,” Harris said.
“I mean, let’s really take a moment to understand the significance of what we’re talking about. It’s been over 70 years; and through those 70 years — as I mentioned yesterday — there has been peace and security,” she continued.
“We are talking about the real possibility of war in Europe. So our position is, for us, very clear, which is as a leader —which we have been — bringing together the allies, working together around our collective and unified position, that we would all — not just prefer — we desire, we believe it is in the best interest of all that there is a diplomatic end to this moment.”
“Sending perpetually unprepared Kamala Harris over to attempt to quell a geopolitical crisis is such an outrageous move,” GOP adviser Matt Whitlock tweeted.
Senate candidate Sean Parnell said: “This word salad…may God help us all. We are being led by total buffoons.”
Some were quick to point out the factual inaccuracies in Harris’ remarks.
“This ignores Yugoslav Wars, as well as Russia’s attacks on Georgia [and] Ukraine,” Washington Examiner reporter Jerry Dunleavy tweeted.
“Also, Berlin Wall only came down three decades ago so I’d quibble with 70 years…”
