January 1, Journalist Who Investigated Jeffrey Epstein Dies
Investigative journalist and former NYPD detective John Connolly has died. He was 78.
Connolly was a co-author with James Patterson of the 2017 book Filthy Rich: The Shocking True Story of Jeffrey Epstein — The Billionaire’s Sex Scandal, which also became a Netflix series.
He also appeared in the Investigation Discovery documentary Who Killed Jeffrey Epstein?
“Like all good grifters, he had ways of moving people in directions where they shouldn’t go,” Connolly told The New York Post in 2020, speaking about his findings on Epstein over the years.
“Once they did, they were screwed.”
Connolly also contributed to magazines including Vanity Fair, US Weekly, and Premiere.
His longtime partner, Dorothy Carvello, confirmed that he passed after a brief illness.
