January 1, Pentagon Boss Drops BOMBSHELL on NATO — Allies Put American Troops ‘At Risk’

Wyatt’s Take
- Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth just put Europe on notice — six months to prove they can defend themselves or U.S. forces start coming home
- NATO allies refused to help American troops fighting Iran, denying access to bases and airspace when our sons and daughters needed support most
- While Europe obsessed over gender equity and climate change, they let their militaries rot and borders collapse — now they expect us to bail them out
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth delivered a blistering message to NATO allies Thursday, announcing a six-month review of American military forces stationed across Europe. The outcome? It all depends on whether European nations finally step up to defend themselves.
“This will be a real review. It will be designed to ensure that NATO is moving fast and irreversibly toward Europe leading, stepping up to take primary responsibility for the defense of Europe,” Hegseth told NATO officials in Brussels.
But the real fireworks came when Hegseth called out European countries for abandoning U.S. forces during the war against Iran. Some so-called “allies” actually refused American troops access to military bases and airspace.
“These allies, they put America’s sons and daughters, our sons and daughters, at risk by denying them the predictable access, basing and overflight that never should have been in question at all.”
Hegseth didn’t stop there. He unloaded on Europe’s misplaced priorities — open borders, bloated welfare states, and an obsession with woke social policies while defense capabilities crumbled.
“Instead of tanks and fighters and air defenses, the focus has been on gender equity and climate change and defense austerity. Europe’s borders flew wide open, welfare states expanded, defense budgets cratered. Along with Europe’s belief in itself and its civilization.”
The tough talk comes days after Germany finally woke up to reality. Berlin’s ambassador to Washington told media the country is ready to shoulder more responsibility for European security after decades of relying on American muscle.
“Germany is stepping up — we heard the call!” German Ambassador to the United States Jens Hanefeld said in an exclusive interview.
Chancellor Friedrich Merz announced Germany’s armed forces should become the strongest conventional army in Europe. Hanefeld confirmed Berlin’s new military strategy backs that goal.
“Russia’s illegal war of aggression has shaken old certainties in Europe and Germany as the international rules we have relied on are being challenged. This changes the strategic environment we operate in.”
“Today, Germany is Ukraine’s largest supporter. Germany’s decision to become Europe’s strongest conventional army, well anchored in the NATO alliance, is an ongoing commitment.”
Wyatt Matters
For decades, hardworking American families have footed the bill while Europe played social experiment. Our troops stood guard while they opened borders, expanded welfare, and lectured us about climate change. Now when we needed them most, they slammed the door in our faces. It’s past time Europe learned to stand on its own two feet — American taxpayers aren’t the world’s piggy bank, and our sons and daughters aren’t sacrificial pawns for countries that won’t even let them use a runway. This review is long overdue, and the message is crystal clear: step up or we’re stepping back.

Those countries that tried to kneecap America should not ever be allowed to depend on American support for anything. Not 1 American soldier, not $1 of American tax money, and there should be NO immigration allowed for those people. Regardless of the reason they wish to come here. Defensive or economic refugees would not be welcomed here. Let them fight their own battles on their own nickel.
