  • Don Lemon defended left-wing protesters who disrupted a Minneapolis church service.
  • The protest targeted a pastor thought to be tied to ICE.
  • Tensions rose after recent clashes between ICE agents and illegal immigrants.

Don Lemon showed support for protesters who barged into a church in Minneapolis, causing an uproar over rumored ties to ICE. He broadcast the event live and said the disruption was part of fighting for democracy.

“Everybody has to be willing to sacrifice something to save democracy,” Lemon said in a TikTok video.

The service was interrupted with chants for “Justice for Renee Good,” referencing a shooting where an ICE agent fatally shot Good after she allegedly tried to run over the agent during an enforcement action. Video shows Good ignoring commands and accelerating her car after her girlfriend told her to drive.

Authorities are now investigating Good’s girlfriend, suspected of trying to get in the way of law enforcement. While describing the unrest, Lemon compared the protest to past civil rights movements.

“Remember what the civil rights movement was about. The civil rights movement was about these very kinds of protests,” he said.

Lemon also insisted that such protests are protected by the Constitution, saying, “The whole point of it is to disrupt and make people uncomfortable.” Officials pushed back, with White House staffers blaming local leadership for fueling unrest and promising the law would be enforced.

The chaos continued at another ICE support event, where rioters confronted pro-ICE attendees and one ended up in the hospital after being attacked. The city is on edge as pressure grows between law enforcement and activists opposing their actions.
