January 1, DHS Slams Leaders for Silence on ICE Bounties
Wyatt’s Take
- Federal law officers face foreign threats right here at home.
- Top leaders in Illinois haven’t said a word about these dangers.
- Middle America knows law enforcement deserves backing, not silence.
Federal officials are sounding the alarm after news surfaced of bounties put on ICE agents by dangerous foreign groups. The silence from Illinois leaders like Governor J.B. Pritzker and Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson is raising eyebrows.
Tricia McLaughlin from the Department of Homeland Security asked,
“My question for J.B. Pritzker and for the Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson, where’s their condemnation?
These are American law enforcement forcibly enforcing the rule of law.
Any freedom-loving American should be disgusted by the fact that there’s foreign terrorist organizations who are going after our law enforcement.”
These threats aren’t faraway problems—they’re right in America’s backyard. Folks in the heartland understand the risks law officers take to keep communities safe and expect their leaders to stand up for them.
If we look away now, what message does that send? Lawmen on the line deserve clarity and support.
Wyatt Matters
Standing with law enforcement shows we value community and safety in Middle America. Leaders who stay silent ignore the backbone of our neighborhoods.
