  • Sheridan Gorman was 18 years old when she was killed while walking with friends in Chicago.
  • The suspect, a Venezuelan national, was reportedly caught and released by federal authorities before being released again locally.

“Sheridan Gorman had her whole life ahead of her before this cold-blooded killer decided to end her life,” Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis said in a statement.

“She was failed by open border policies and sanctuary politicians who RELEASED this illegal alien TWICE before he went on to commit this heinous murder.”

“We are calling on Governor J.B. Pritzker and Chicago’s sanctuary politicians to commit to not releasing this criminal illegal alien from jail back into American neighborhoods.”

DHS reportedly asked Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker not to release the suspect after the latest incident. Chicago remains a sanctuary city, and Mayor Brandon Johnson has restricted police cooperation with immigration officials.

    These sanctuary state and city leaders know exactly what they are doing. They also know it is illegal to do what they are doing by releasing ANY illegal alien back into the community. Why are the citizens not protesting these communist leaders? Can someone explain that?
