January 1, Celebrity Survivor Escapes Deadly Airport Runway Crash

Wyatt’s Take
- A routine flight at LaGuardia turned into a deadly runway collision with a fire truck.
- Former TV dancer Charlotte Jorgensen says the crew’s quick actions helped her survive.
- Two pilots were killed, and several passengers and crew were injured in the crash.
Jorgensen shared her gratitude for the fallen pilots, Captain Antoine Forest and First Officer Mackenzie Gunther, calling them brave souls.
“They made the ultimate sacrifice so that we all could live.”
The crash left dozens of people injured and hospitalized during the chaotic scene in New York City. Jorgensen says she felt nothing in the moment due to adrenaline but is now struggling to move forward emotionally.
“I am indebted to them and my thoughts are with their families.”
The aircraft was carrying seventy-six people in total when the collision occurred on the runway. Support has poured in for the survivors as they recover from the physical and mental trauma of the accident.
