Wyatt’s Take

  • Leaders in D.C. argue over who caused government shutdown.
  • Illinois workers face furloughs while politicians point fingers.
  • Funding dispute centers on healthcare for illegal immigrants.

The government shut down after Senate Democrats blocked a Republican funding bill.

Leaders from both parties are blaming each other.

Now thousands of workers in Illinois could lose pay.

Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker said

“The president of the United States decided to shut down the government because he’s unwilling to sit down with Democrats to discuss things.”

Vice President J.D. Vance fired back at Senate Democrats.

“They talk about doing something. They don’t actually do the hard work of making it happen.”

“What they have done instead is to shut down the government because we won’t give billions of dollars in healthcare funding for illegal aliens. That is what actually happened,”

he said.

Vance added

“A lot of them will admit in private that it’s kind of absurd to shut down the people’s government over these disagreements, but just agree to negotiate with us in good faith on these issues, and, of course, we’re having that conversation with them.”

Illinois Senate candidate Don Tracy said Democrats in Washington are holding the country hostage for more spending.

“Instead of joining Republicans in passing a clean funding bill to keep the government open, they are holding our country hostage to appease the radical left’s trillion-dollar spending demands,”

Tracy said.

Pritzker insisted President Trump is the reason for the shutdown, pointing to his reputation as a dealmaker.

“He wrote a book, or supposedly wrote a book, called ‘The Art of the Deal’ and says he’s a great dealmaker. Time to go to work,”

Pritzker said.

Pritzker warned that about 45,000 federal workers in Illinois may be furloughed.

Both sides remain stuck.

Families across the country feel the pain.

Leaders in Washington keep arguing, but everyday Americans are the ones who get hurt.

If lawmakers truly cared, they’d find real solutions instead of blaming each other.

Wyatt Matters

The members of congress still get paid and none of them need it.They don’t have the incentive except to pacify their own prejudiced intrests. The democrats voted ” No ” on passing the budget. They shut down the government. They could have left everything running and then work on the issues that they felt were being wrongfully targeted. But this is a display of power for them. jazzman croakett says, come to my office and beg, in other words. The media will play and replay schumer’s deceitful remarks about who is at fault, as well as jefferies will be doing the same. But they are all being paid their un-needed salaries.
