Wyatt’s Take

  • Amy Schumer announced her split from husband Chris Fischer after seven years of marriage.
  • She clarified their breakup is not due to weight loss, fame, or Fischer’s autism diagnosis.
  • The couple will continue co-parenting their son and say their split is amicable.

Amy Schumer posted on Instagram that she and her husband, Chris Fischer, are ending their marriage after seven years together. She emphasized their ongoing commitment to raising their son and asked for privacy during this time.

“Blah blah blah Chris and I have made the difficult decision to end our marriage after 7 years. We love each other very much and will continue to focus on raising our son. We would appreciate people respecting our privacy at this time,” she wrote.

Schumer joked further in the caption, shutting down rumors about the cause of their split and assuring fans the decision was not tied to changes in her appearance or her husband’s success. She closed with, “Family forever.”

Earlier hints of trouble surfaced when Schumer posted about her marriage, noting their relationship was not affected by weight loss or Fischer’s autism. She had previously spoken warmly about Fischer’s diagnosis, saying, “my favorite people are on the spectrum.”

They met in 2017, married in early 2018, and welcomed a son in 2019. Their struggles with fertility and attempts at IVF were openly shared with fans, and Schumer has spoken honestly about these challenges.
