January 1, Actress’s Dog Killed – Delivery Driver Defends
Actress Angie Harmon has accused an Instacart delivery driver of shooting and killing her dog. The 51-year-old took to Instagram on Monday, sharing images of her German Shepherd/beagle mix named Oliver. In the caption, Harmon wrote, “This Easter weekend a man delivering groceries for Instacart shot & killed our precious Oliver.”
According to Harmon, the driver delivered the groceries, then shot her dog. She claimed the man knew he was not being recorded, as their Ring camera was charging inside the house. Harmon shared her outrage that the police let the man go, as he claimed self-defense: “He did not have a scratch or bite on him nor were his pants torn.”
In her post, the “Rizzoli & Isles” actress described the ordeal as traumatic and devastating. Instacart has since responded to the incident, stating that they were “deeply saddened and disturbed” by the situation.
A representative for the company told People, “We have no tolerance for violence of any kind, and the shopper account was immediately suspended from our platform. We have been in direct contact with the customer and are cooperating with law enforcement on their investigation.”
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police confirmed that the delivery person claimed he had been attacked by the dog and retaliated by shooting the animal. A representative from CMPD Public Affairs said, “The driver told officers that a dog attacked him while he was at the residence and that he defended himself by firing a single gunshot, striking and mortally wounding the dog.” No charges have been filed against the driver as of now.
Harmon took to Instagram stories to further express her grief and anger: “To the man who took Ollie away from us: your actions are despicable and inexcusable,” she wrote. “You’ve not only robbed us of a beloved member of our family but you’ve also traumatized us beyond measure.”

That guy should not be a delivery person he just didn’t like dogs if he would have had some signs of an attack that would be a different story the first thing the dog would have gone Fter would hVe been his pants leg I personally saw a delivery man drop the package at the front door then walk around the outside and spray a dog with repellant the dog was in a pen I was at the other side of the field or I would have sprayed that guy until he screamed

The delivery drivers should carry dog spray like mail carriers do. Guns should never be allowed. I feel that if the driver felt the dog was going to attack him, he should have SKIPPED the delivery and let the dog alone. Killing someone’s pet is never a solution. The driver should be fired!

If it were me, I would personally go after the driver. Accidents happen to people like that.

As a technician who goes into people’s houses and is routinely told the dog actively trying to bite him is friendly, sweet, never bites people etc. I think I’m going to reserve judgment on this.

Sounds like the delivery guy has some mental issues. He needs to be forced to see a professional and be evaluated. He has no right to be allowed to carry a firearm.
You do not display a weapon in another man’s house.
You do not draw a weapon in another man’s house.
You do not use a weapon in another man’s house.
You do not assault any living creature in another man’s.

I once had a mailman that would deliver the mail, and then walk around the side of my house and spray my dog. I caught him in the act, faced him down and physically confiscated his spray from him! I then warned him if he ever so much as attempted to do this again, he would wind up eating his spray! I filed a complaint with the post office and he was removed permanently!
