January 1, John Cena Bares All at Oscars, Stirs Controversy and Laughter

The 96th annual Academy Awards, a night when Hollywood’s elite don their finest attire, was marked by an unexpected spectacle. John Cena, the wrestling superstar turned actor, chose to walk across the stage stark naked, much to the surprise of the audience.

Cena was part of a skit with the evening’s host, Jimmy Kimmel. He feigned shyness about his nude promenade in front of a live audience. Eventually, he emerged, clad only in Birkenstocks, using an Oscars nomination card for modesty. Cena quipped, “Costumes… they are so important. Maybe the most important thing there is,” as he introduced the award for Best Costume Design. The crowd’s reaction was nothing short of uproarious.

The skit was a nod to a past Oscars incident. Kimmel recalled, “At the 46th Academy Awards, 1974, David Niven was in the middle of introducing Elizabeth Taylor when a nude man – a streaker – ran across the stage.” He then posed a question to the audience, “Can you imagine if a nude man ran across the stage today?” The anticipation was palpable as he repeated the question, and then Cena made his grand entrance.

Cena’s performance, however, was not without controversy. His nude appearance during prime time TV, a time when children are likely to be watching, raised eyebrows. Cena, seemingly aware of the potential backlash, acted reluctant about his nude appearance.

“Pst, Jimmy. Come here. I can’t come there, do the thing!” he said, implying he had changed his mind about the stunt. He expressed discomfort about streaking during such an “elegant event,” and even chided Kimmel for suggesting the idea, stating, “the male body is not a joke.”

Kimmel, undeterred, retorted, “Jorts are worse than naked!. Come on. You’re really not gonna do this? Fine, just give out the award then. God, you’re the worst.” Cena then made his way out, keeping his dignity intact with the oversized nomination envelope.

However, Cena encountered a minor hiccup when he admitted, “I can’t open the envelope.” The camera later revealed Cena in a makeshift toga, fashioned from a curtain, marking a swift end to his brief nude stint.

Why It Matters (op-ed)

John Cena’s nude Oscars stunt epitomizes the moral decay that plagues Hollywood. It’s a pathetic cry for attention, sacrificing decency for shock value.

This vulgar display occurred during prime time, potentially exposing children to such indecency. Cena’s feigned reluctance to participate doesn’t absolve him of responsibility.

The normalization of this behavior threatens our society’s moral fabric. Hollywood must be held accountable for promoting indecency and contributing to the erosion of traditional values.

Here’s something even more about chicom Cena. Awhile back, he apologized to China, in mandarin for calling Taiwan a nation. He did this because a movie he was in was going to premiere in china.he is a traitor. And a very vulgar person proofing that by his naked actions. He is also the voice for the honda commercials. He needs a serious butt-light boycott for every company he does ads for. And it needs to go viral and destroy his character.

They will do anything for attention. And the sad part is no cares about actors or Hollywood these days.
    They are slowly fading away.

Not surprised! Hollywood is a joke. Some good people in Hollywood that are made fun for having morals. The rest are perverts and evil. They don’t really vote for the actors they are told how to vote. A new comer never gets the ward. No funny movie get a ward. Haven’t watched this joke for a very long time. Used to stay up late and watch the whole show now I didn’t even know it was on. Keep Robert DeNiro off the stage! He needs a nursing home. Jimmy Kimmel was terrible and a jerk. The man show was a disgusting series and proved he is a pervert! He has no honor for America and morals.

The Oscars, Emmys, and every awards show is obsolete. We see enough of these idiots clapping each other on the backs and announcing their importance to the world . I don’t care and will not watch any of these shows. Perhaps they should concentrate on creating entertainment that people actually want to watch. These days all they put out is crap lies about racial stuff. GARBAGE!!!

The op-ed decries the vulgar indecent display of nudity where children may be subjected to it; however, we are expected to accept it as normal when males pretending to be women routinely invade girls and women’s locker & shower rooms with impunity

It is no wonder that they can’t produce anything of worth to attract an audience anymore, with clowns such as Kimmel around. I wasn’t aware, nor did I care that the Oscars were still in existence! All the movies that I see advertised,(with the possible exception of Top Gun), are relegated to the “must miss” category. Hollywierd is on its way out, unfortunately, or maybe FORTUNATELY !

It is Jimmy Kimmel’s fault (his idea). He should be held accountable.

I have long believed that there is nothing wrong with nudity, in the proper setting: –however this sort of display at a gala event exhibits a complete lack of decorum and should not be welcomed or approved of in our society. I agree that it is a sign of moral decay.
