Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodriguez felt compelled to respond to Trump’s comments, and her words revealed just how rattled the regime has become.

“We love our independence,” Rodriguez declared, attempting to dismiss the idea while clearly taking it seriously enough to address publicly.

The irony is thick here. Venezuela claims to love independence while their failed socialist experiment has left millions of citizens fleeing the country and seeking refuge in places like — you guessed it — the United States.
