January 1, Trump Announces Historic Deal That Has Energy Markets Reeling

Wyatt’s Take
- Trump just closed a diplomatic deal with Iran that could transform global oil markets overnight
- After 68 days of carefully managed ceasefire, the president delivered what critics said was impossible
- The energy implications are massive—American consumers could see direct benefits at the pump
President Donald Trump dropped a bombshell announcement Sunday that’s sending shockwaves through Washington and world energy markets. After more than two months of tense negotiations, Trump revealed he’s secured a completed deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The agreement marks the most significant diplomatic breakthrough since the 68-day ceasefire of U.S. strikes against the Iranian regime began. For critics who said Trump’s tough approach would never work, this represents a stunning vindication of America First negotiating tactics.

“The Deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran is now complete,” Trump posted.
“Congratulations to all!”
The president went further, making a decisive move that signals confidence in the agreement’s terms. “I hereby fully authorize the toll free [flow of Iranian oil],” Trump declared, indicating that sanctions relief tied to oil exports is part of the package.
This represents a dramatic shift in Middle East policy—one that Trump’s team has been quietly working toward while mainstream media focused on manufactured controversies. The deal comes after months of backroom diplomacy that the previous administration said couldn’t happen.
Energy analysts are already scrambling to calculate what increased Iranian oil production could mean for global supply chains. For everyday Americans struggling with inflated costs at the grocery store and gas station, more oil flowing to market traditionally means downward pressure on prices.
The timing couldn’t be more strategic. With OPEC nations carefully managing output and Russia under sanctions, opening Iranian supply represents a geopolitical chess move that strengthens America’s hand while potentially delivering economic relief to working families.
Trump’s approach—combining military strength with willingness to negotiate—stands in stark contrast to the weakness shown by previous administrations. By maintaining credible deterrence during the ceasefire period, he created the leverage needed to bring Iran to the table on terms favorable to American interests.
Details of the agreement remain forthcoming, but the president’s confident announcement suggests he secured concessions that protect U.S. national security while achieving economic objectives. This is exactly the kind of deal-making Trump promised voters—tough, pragmatic, and focused on results rather than ideology.
Wyatt Matters
While coastal elites mock Trump’s negotiating style, working Americans understand what matters: results that affect their daily lives. If this deal helps bring down energy costs while keeping our country safe, that’s the kind of leadership Middle America voted for. Peace through strength isn’t just a slogan—it’s a strategy that delivers when executed by someone who knows how to close a deal.

Peace through strength is the slogan today. However there is another slogan occuring right now. Speak softly and carry a big stick. That’s what Trump was using in Iran. John Kennedy once said that the symbol of America is the eagle. In one talon it carries olive branches. In the other talon it carries arrows. Kennedy would use both to achieve America’s interests. Trump used it today.
