January 1, Radical Democrats PANIC — Red-State Uprising May Destroy Party From Within

Wyatt’s Take
- Socialist-backed candidates are staging hostile takeovers of Democratic primaries from Denver to Missouri — establishment incumbents falling like dominoes.
- Bernie Sanders and AOC are pouring gasoline on the fire, backing far-left radicals who proudly call themselves ‘democratic socialists’ and want to dismantle capitalism.
- Republicans are watching gleefully as the Democratic Party tears itself apart — these primary battles hand the GOP a golden hammer to paint all Democrats as communist radicals in 2026.
The far left isn’t just winning anymore — they’re launching a full-scale takeover of the Democratic Party, one primary at a time. After shocking upsets in New York City and Colorado, socialist-aligned candidates are now storming into Missouri, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Florida with momentum that has establishment Democrats sweating.
In Denver on Tuesday, first-time candidate Melat Kiros — backed by the Democratic Socialists of America — knocked off 15-term incumbent Rep. Diana DeGette in a result nobody saw coming. Hours later, former Rep. Cori Bush of Missouri fired off a battle cry on social media.
“On August 4th, St. Louis will do the same,” Bush declared.
Bush, a Black Lives Matter activist and DSA-backed radical, lost her seat two years ago after millions in outside money poured in against her extreme anti-Israel stance. Now she’s clawing her way back, trying to reclaim her St. Louis congressional district in what’s become an all-out brawl with establishment Democrats.
The socialist wave isn’t stopping there. In Michigan — a critical Great Lakes battleground — Abdul El-Sayed is making a run for Senate with endorsements from Bernie Sanders and AOC herself.
“AOC has changed the trajectory of American politics and inspired a generation to believe that government really can work for working people,” El-Sayed gushed on social media. “Together, we’re proving that even in the face of unprecedented outside spending, a movement powered by the people can win.”
Translation: the far left now believes they can win anywhere, anytime, with or without party support.
One week after Missouri and Michigan vote, Wisconsin holds its primary on August 11. State Rep. Francesca Hong — a DSA-aligned progressive — is surging in a crowded field to replace retiring Democratic Gov. Tony Evers.
“It’s a great day to be a democratic socialist,” Hong posted after the New York City victories. “Wisconsin is next!”
Then Florida gets its turn. On August 18, DSA-backed Oliver Larkin is challenging two-term Democratic Rep. Jared Moskowitz in a South Florida district that spans Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties.
“Tonight, @MelatKirosCO, tomorrow @OliverALarkin. The movement moves from New York to Colorado to FLORIDA!” the DSA crowed on social media.
The Democratic Socialists of America aren’t hiding their endgame either.
“Only socialism can solve decades of capitalist mismanagement in the US. Our newly elected leaders will fight for the working class — not for crumbs,” the DSA declared Wednesday.
These victories aren’t accidents. Justice Democrats — the group that helped launch AOC and the Squad — are backing many of these insurgent candidates. Controversial far-left streamer Hasan Piker, who showed up at Kiros’ victory party in Denver, told reporters the quiet part out loud.
“I think progressive politics, left populism, a politics that centers the needs of the working class, can work in every district, in every state. That’s why I kept saying over and over again, it’s coming to a city near you.”
Progressives also scored big in Colorado’s 8th Congressional District, a crucial swing seat north of Denver. State Rep. Manny Rutinel crushed moderate Democrat Shannon Bird by double digits and will now face Republican Rep. Gabe Evans, who flipped the seat in 2024.
That race is one of two or three dozen that will decide whether Republicans hold their razor-thin House majority in the midterms.
Joe Caiazzo, a Democratic strategist who worked on Bernie Sanders’ 2016 and 2020 presidential campaigns, admits the obvious.
“It is undeniable that progressives have built a coalition and have a message that can serve to buoy a candidate when they are an acceptable alternative to the status quo,” Caiazzo said.
But here’s the problem for Democrats: while plenty of establishment candidates are still winning primaries, it’s the socialist victories grabbing all the headlines. And that’s handing Republicans a gift-wrapped opportunity to paint the entire Democratic Party as a radical, America-hating mob.
President Donald Trump has been sounding the alarm for months, repeatedly warning Americans about the “communist” threat from the left.
Vice President JD Vance hammered the point home Tuesday night.
Democrats have “a view that the United States is an evil country that must be dismantled from the ground and then built back up. That’s communism at its core, and you see more and more momentum in that direction from the Democrat Party,” Vance said.
Republicans facing a tough midterm climate are now watching the Democratic Party’s civil war with glee. Every socialist primary win gives the GOP fresh ammunition to argue that Democrats have been hijacked by radicals who want to tear down America and rebuild it in their own woke, anti-capitalist image.
Wyatt Matters
Middle America needs to pay attention. These aren’t fringe candidates in fringe districts anymore — they’re winning, and they’re spreading. When someone tells you they’re a socialist and wants to dismantle capitalism, believe them the first time. The good news? Every time the far left wins a Democratic primary, they make it easier for Republicans to show voters what the Democratic Party has become: a party that thinks America is evil and needs to be torn down. That message won’t play in the heartland, and Democrats know it.
