Wyatt’s Take

  • Prosecutors say the killings were cold, calculated, and especially heinous.
  • Police say the second victim was found after the suspect reportedly asked, “Which one?”
  • The state is seeking the death penalty because of the alleged premeditation.

Authorities arrested 51-year-old Susan Avalon for the December shooting deaths of David Scott and Timothy Flecher.

Scott was found alive initially and managed to name his ex-wife as the shooter before he died.

When police arrived at Avalon’s home to discuss her ex-husband, she reportedly asked, “Which one?”

That response led officers to discover Flecher’s body at a separate residence with a shattered back door.

Witnesses reported seeing the suspect’s vehicle near the crime scenes, and investigators say she was seen bleaching the inside of her car.

Her current boyfriend told police she made threatening comments about both victims before showering with her clothes on.

“While our case focuses on one victim here in Hillsborough County, we know this tragedy did not end with one life,” State Attorney Suzy Lopez said.

“Two families are grieving, and we are committed to seeking justice while standing with everyone impacted by this senseless violence.”

Avalon is currently being held without bail as the legal process moves forward.
