  • Senate Democrats are blocking funding while TSA workers face uncertainty.
  • ICE agents have been deployed to major airports to help keep travel moving.
  • Atlanta and other hubs are seeing extra federal reinforcement as the shutdown drags on.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents officially deployed to several major airports this weekend.

The move follows a funding standoff that has left many TSA workers without pay during a partial government shutdown.

President Trump said he would take action if lawmakers failed to agree on a funding bill.

The deployment came shortly after a fifth vote to end the shutdown failed in the Senate.

“The heroes of ICE have arrived at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport to assist the short-staffed TSA agents,” noted one report on the scene.

Atlanta has seen more than a third of its security staff call out sick during the budget battle.

Other major hubs like Chicago, Houston, and New York are also receiving federal reinforcements to maintain order.

Even some Democrats are starting to break ranks as the travel chaos grows.

Senator John Fetterman called for reopening the agency and paying the workers to make the nation more secure.

Tech mogul Elon Musk even offered to cover TSA salaries.

However, government officials have not yet addressed the legality of a private citizen paying federal workers.
