January 1, Tulsi Gabbard Challenges Washington Post’s Reporting Tactics

Tulsi Gabbard, who’s in charge of National Intelligence, is standing up against the Washington Post. She says one of their reporters, Ellen Nakashima, is bothering her team and trying to get them to spill secret government info.

Gabbard named Nakashima, saying she’s trying sneaky ways to get info from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) staff. Instead of talking to Gabbard’s press folks, she’s calling top Intelligence Officers from secret phones and pretending she doesn’t work for the Washington Post.

Gabbard posted on X, saying, “This reporter is acting all shady, and the Washington Post seems to want to mess with the Intelligence folks doing their jobs protecting important info. This isn’t just a mistake; it’s a part of a plan by the same newspaper that bothered me and my family back in Hawaii.”

She added, “The Washington Post is just trying to mess up what the president is achieving because they can’t handle all the progress. They don’t care about being fair anymore.”

Gabbard thinks the Washington Post should stop this and apologized.

On the other hand, the Post’s big boss, Matt Murray, fired back, saying that Nakashima is a top-notch reporter who’s just doing her job by talking to people for news. He said it’s not wrong or harassment to do proper journalism and that Gabbard doesn’t understand how reporters work to keep government accountable. They’re sticking to their mission of reporting the news, no matter what.
