January 1, Biden’s Oil Reserve Strategy Faces Sharp Criticism

Published

on

The folks over at the Energy Department just announced that they’re done with restocking our country’s strategic oil reserves. These stores were slashed by almost half under President Biden’s watch. They’ve been patting themselves on the back for keeping our stockpile going.

But, here’s the kicker: right now, there are only 387.2 million barrels of oil in the reserves. When Biden took over from President Trump, there were 638.1 million barrels.

This huge drop happened because Biden decided to dump a bunch of oil from our reserves into the U.S. market. He wanted to keep gas prices low after Russia invaded Ukraine. But a lot of folks weren’t happy with this move, calling it political. They said he just wanted to keep prices low before the election to look good.

Trishia Curtis from the American Energy Institute put it like this: “The SPR for this administration was used as a piggy bank to lower oil prices.”

Phil Flynn, a market expert, chimed in saying it was all just “smoke and mirrors.”

Despite all this, Energy Department Secretary Jennifer Granholm applauded Biden for keeping America as the leader in emergency oil supplies and putting Americans first.

But not everyone agrees. Steve Milloy, who used to help with environmental stuff under Trump, doesn’t think the numbers Biden’s team is using make sense. He says it’s tricky business because they’ve only bought back a third of the oil they sold.

Energy expert Chris Barnard had a lot to say too. He thinks Biden saying he’s all about energy security while trying to end oil and gas is just confusing. One minute, Biden wants to end fossil fuels, and the next, he’s talking about restocking the oil reserves. There’s also talk of him canceling the Keystone Pipeline and asking the Saudis for more oil.

President Trump is all about lowering energy costs. He wants to keep American energy strong and says it’s time to “frack, frack, frack.”

As Biden’s wrapping up his time in the White House, he’s been pushing stricter environmental rules. Just this week, he okayed a new tax on methane emissions and put tighter controls on energy development over a huge area of federal land.

Meanwhile, the Energy Department isn’t saying much more on this topic.

Wyatt Matters!

The news about the strategic oil reserves being restocked is important. But it’s clear there’s a problem. When President Biden took office, there were more barrels of oil in reserve than there are now. This is because some of our oil was used to help keep gas prices down. While this might sound like a smart move, many people think it was done for political reasons, especially since it happened around the same time as the elections.

Some experts think using the oil reserves like this is not the right choice. They believe it was like using a “piggy bank” to solve short-term problems without thinking about the long-term effects. There’s also a concern that the oil reserves haven’t been fully refilled, leaving us with less in case of emergencies. Meanwhile, President Biden’s actions related to energy keep sending mixed signals. On one hand, he talks about climate change and reducing fossil fuels, but on the other, there’s a focus on getting more oil. This has confused many people.

The conversation about energy is more than just how much oil we have stored. It’s about planning wisely for the future while keeping energy costs down. There needs to be a balance that considers both environmental protection and energy security. This means looking beyond quick fixes and thinking about how to make sure we have enough energy and protect the planet for future generations.

This was never a good idea, and it is now refilled with overpriced oil to replenish the reserves. If SOMEBODY would have the guts to bring ANWAR to the table in Congress… then it can be voted into law and not reversed by each regime.
The is a 700 year supply and we can develop it, sell some to our allies and be energy independent for the whims of OPEC… literally tell them to pound sand.
The argument has always been “it will take 10 years to get this rolling” which was 30+ years ago. Like moving an Embassy from Tel Avi to Jerusalem… put this on Trump’s to do list.

How wise is depleting the SOR (strategic oil reserve) at the same time Communist China is increasing their reserves? How will this effect our ability to prosecute a multi-theater conflict with Russia, China, Iran, and Korea?

So stinking tired of hearing their bs climate change. Just an excuse to spend/laundering money. A nasal expert testified in front of congress. Show a nasa satellite imagine of earth. The planet has only warmed 0.004% he said that doesn’t support their bs claim.

Liberals will never admit to bad policy. They are committed to whatever they do regardless of the const to the country. It is time to minimise their impact on this country and move conservatively into the future!!!

When you have a piggy bank, and you empty it, how do you refill it. Without some income or gifts from someone. Same as oil reserves. No drilling means no refills!

Americans (mainly the Conservative Voters): Hello. obiden is the most unscrupulous, dishonest, treasonous, anti-America, on-the-take money-grubbing, cheated-in occupier of OUR White House in USA history. Strategic Petroleum Reserve, its purpose and vital nature? Just a political tool of obiden [the puppet of obummer], as it was used to “save” 2-cents-for 2 weeks for the consumers just before elections.
AND, everything behind the disgraceful DISuse of our available energy resources [fossil fuel] and catering to buy foreign oil from hostile countries jeopardized our national security. on obidens Day 1, canceled the Keystone XL Pipeline; canceled drilling in ANWAR, Federal lands, and offshore drilling; canceled to a dribble all drilling permits…ALL Anti-America [like obummers vile policies toward our USA].
AND, know why our Navy has hundreds of ships moth-balled? Because obiden fired everyone for NOT getting the Covid vaccine shots, fired military personnel-active, reserves, national guard, all Service Academies, first-responders, police, firemen, health care personnel. YET, at the outset of President Trump having completed the expedited availability of the vaccine, BOTH obiden and the camel (harris) SHUNNED the vaccine. BUT SOON LATER, both of them pushed their way to the front of the line to GET the vaccine shots.
    BEGONE obiden-camel regime !
