January 1, Squad Members Mix Up Memorial Day, Veterans Day: Deleted Posts Exposed

Published

“Squad” members, Reps. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) and Cori Bush (D-MO), recently confused Memorial Day with Veterans Day. Memorial Day is a day to honor fallen American service members, while Veterans Day honors those who have served.

Omar initially posted from her congressional account: “On #MemorialDay, we honor the heroic men and women who served our country. We owe them more than our gratitude — they have more than earned access to quality mental health services, job opportunities, housing assistance, and the benefits they were promised.”

Bush also posted: “This #MemorialDay & every day, we honor our veterans in St. Louis. We must invest in universal health care, affordable housing, comprehensive mental health services, and educational & economic opportunities for our veterans as we work to build a world free of war and violence.”

After receiving criticism for not knowing the difference between the two holidays, both representatives deleted their posts. “Rep. Ilhan Omar and Rep. Cori Bush just deleted their Memorial Day tweets after revealing they have no clue what it is,” one user tweeted.

Both members of Congress later replaced their posts with ones relevant to Memorial Day. Omar’s new post read: “On Memorial Day, let’s say thank you to the brave men and women who selflessly sacrificed their lives in service to our country. Thank you to the families who also have sacrificed and have dedicated their time to ensuring their loved ones are remembered.”

Bush’s new post stated: “This #MemorialDay, we honor those who served and lost their lives for our country, and we hold in our hearts the loved ones they’ve left behind. We must continue to push to protect our service members while working to build a world free of war and violence.”

However, users replied to them with screenshots of their original posts. Other “Squad” members, such as Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), and Gregorio Casar (D-TX), did not post anything at all. Meanwhile, Reps. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), Jamaal Bowman (D-NY), Summer Lee (D-PA), and Delia Ramirez (D-IL) all posted relevant Memorial Day messages honoring fallen troops.

How do these knuckleheads keep getting elected? They don’t know our history and what they think they know is usually wrong! I hope this is not a reflection of their districts!

Shows how stupid these people are. They aren’t representing America or the American people. They are representing Palestine, Somalia, Venezuela and other America hating countries.

This is exactly why members of Congress, the President and everyone in the Presidential Adshould be required to have not only Served in our Military bur to be Natural Born Citizens 1st. How dare they not know or understand the meaning of Memorial Day!!! Once you serve you learn the meaning really quickly when you walk around a military post reading the signs of why such and such building or road was named for a Fallin Hero. I’m sick of these Idiots in Congress making and passing laws that we have to abide by, yet they can’t even grasp the meaning of this Nation’s most Somber of all days. They need to be removed

HARD TO REMEMBER WHEN TO HATE THE COUNTRY WHICH GAVE YOU THE UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY TO EXPOUSE YOUR HATE, AS YOU CRITICISE THOSE WHO ARE GRATEFUL FOR THEIR FREEDOMS. IF YOU CHOOSE NOT TO BE EDUCATED, THEN YOU SHOW YOURSELF TO BE UNEDUCATABLE. YOU SOUND LIKE LITTLE ROBOTS, NO EMOTION, NO PASSION, LITTLE HUMANITY… SO SAD!!
