January 1, Waukesha Parade Suspect Faces 71 New Charges

Wisconsin prosecutors filed 71 new charges against Darrell Brooks, the man who allegedly drove his vehicle into a Christmas parade in Waukesha, killing six people and injuring dozens more.

Brooks, 39, now faces a total of 77 charges, according to NPR. He was previously charged with six counts of first-degree intentional homicide.

The new charges include 61 counts of first-degree recklessly endangering safety with a dangerous weapon, six counts of committing a hit and run causing death, two felony charges of bail jumping, and two counts of domestic abuse.

According to authorities, children and elderly parade performers were among those seriously injured and killed in the tragedy.

Brooks was out on $1,000 cash bail for this case when he allegedly drove into the parade.

    i didn’t see one hate crime listed in the charges….or is it only a hate crime when it’s a white…..what about domestic terrorism….nope not that either…………….

    The $1000 bail was for a separate, previous charge of vehicular aggression.
