Wyatt’s Take

  • Roman Reigns proved once again why he’s the undisputed leader, crushing Jacob Fatu’s challenge in a no-holds-barred Tribal Combat match that left no doubt about who runs the show
  • Fatu tried every dirty trick in the book including his signature Tongan Death Grip, but Reigns showed the kind of grit and determination that built this country — fighting through pain and refusing to quit
  • This wasn’t just about a championship belt; it was about respect, hierarchy, and knowing your place — values that seem lost on a generation that thinks participation trophies mean something

Roman Reigns didn’t earn his spot at the top by asking nicely. He’s been called the “Head of the Table” because he took it, defended it, and made everyone else fall in line.

For years, Reigns was the undisputed WWE champion and leader of The Bloodline. After clawing his way back to the summit at WrestleMania 42, defeating CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship, he’s had one persistent problem: Jacob Fatu.

Fatu wanted everything Reigns had built. The title. The respect. The power. Reigns’ victory over Fatu at Backlash earlier this month should have settled it, but the challenger came back for more, demanding Tribal Combat at Clash in Italy — a match designed to settle who deserves to be called “Tribal Chief.”

Reigns has faced family challenges before. Jey Uso tried. Solo Sikoa tried. Both failed. This time, Reigns wasn’t just looking to win — he was looking to “domesticate” Fatu, to break him so completely he’d never rise again.

The strategy started with eliminating Fatu’s deadliest weapon: the Tongan Death Grip. Reigns used a toolbox to crush Fatu’s hand, temporarily neutralizing the move that had devastated so many opponents. But keeping Fatu down would take more than that.

Reigns speared Fatu through a barricade, sending security members flying. He circled the ring, shouting that he didn’t need anyone’s help, ripping off the turnbuckles with his bare hands.

Fatu tried to lock in another Tongan Death Grip but couldn’t get it synched. Reigns countered with a Superman Punch. Then another. Fatu absorbed every blow. When Reigns went for a spear, Fatu hit him with one first.

Fatu followed up with a pop-up Samoan Drop and then a moonsault. Still couldn’t get the pin. On the second attempt, Reigns hit a low blow. Both men, completely gassed, collapsed in the center of the ring.

Reigns got to his feet first and smashed Fatu’s head against the exposed turnbuckle. Fatu was dazed. Reigns speared him through a table. Fatu somehow got back up. Reigns hit one more spear — the final one.

Reigns defeated Fatu, retaining the World Heavyweight Championship and his position as Head of the Table.

Fatu must now fall in line behind Reigns and The Usos. But Solo Sikoa, Talla Tonga, and Tama Tonga were all watching from the sidelines, witnessing Fatu’s defeat.

Wyatt Matters

There’s something deeply American about this story — the idea that hierarchy matters, that respect is earned through blood and sweat, not demanded. Reigns didn’t coast on talent alone; he fought for every inch. In a culture that increasingly tells everyone they’re special just for showing up, watching someone actually prove their worth the hard way is refreshing. Family loyalty, toughness, and refusing to back down — those used to be universal values in this country. Maybe they still are, at least for those of us who remember what built America in the first place.
