January 1, Trump’s Gaza Plan Offers Amnesty, Seeks Peace
Wyatt’s Take
- Trump shows bold leadership aiming to end Gaza conflict.
- Plan calls for Hamas surrender and peace talks.
- The heartland knows peace needs both strength and resolve.
President Trump has rolled out a 20-point plan to end the Gaza war and welcomed Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu to the White House. The plan aims to end fighting by offering Hamas members amnesty if they surrender and agree to peace, and sets out to make Gaza a safe, terror-free area for its people and neighbors.
The document states, “If both sides agree to this proposal, the war will immediately end. Israeli forces will withdraw to the agreed-upon line to prepare for a hostage release. During this time, all military operations, including aerial and artillery bombardment, will be suspended, and battle lines will remain frozen until conditions are met for the complete staged withdrawal.”
Within 72 hours of Israel’s acceptance, all living or deceased hostages would be returned, followed by Israel releasing prisoners detained after October 7th, 2023. Amnesty is promised to Hamas fighters who give up violence and lay down their arms, and safe passage is guaranteed for those who wish to leave Gaza peacefully.
Trump warned Hamas to accept the plan or face continued fighting, saying, “Israel would have my full backing to finish the job of destroying the threat of Hamas. But I hope that we’re going to have a deal for peace.” Netanyahu echoed that Israel will do what is necessary if Hamas resists, stating, “Israel will finish the job by itself. This can be done the easy way, or it can be done the hard way, but it will be done.”
The Trump team presented similar ideas during meetings with Arab leaders and received broad agreement among international partners. U.S. officials believe this plan could bring a fast end to the war and start a path toward dialogue and lasting stability in the region.

It is good news.
I am hoping it will last as no more blood needs to be shed.
Neighbors can learn to respect each other without armed conflict.
