Utah’s governor confirmed that the man held for the shooting death of Charlie Kirk lived with a transgender romantic partner. The suspect, Tyler Robinson, is 22 years old.

He is set to face official charges Tuesday after the fatal incident at a Utah university rally.

“Yes I can confirm that,” Governor Cox said on CNN when asked about Robinson’s relationship. “The roommate was a romantic partner, a male transitioning to a female.”

Governor Cox added that Robinson has not been cooperative with police, but noted the partner is “incredibly cooperative” and “had no idea that this was happening, and is working with investigators right now.”
