January 1, Star Speaks Out as Subway Danger Rises, Governor on Edge

In the heart of the Big Apple, a city renowned for its stringent gun control laws and Democrat leadership, felony assaults on subway systems have seen a shocking 53 percent surge in 2023 compared to the same type of assaults in 2019. This disturbing statistic reveals a concerning trend in the city’s public transportation system.

The data shows that there were 570 felony assaults reported in 2023, a significant increase from the 370 reported in 2019. This rise in violent crime is not just a number, but a reflection of the growing fear and insecurity felt by New Yorkers.

Alongside the overall rise in felony assaults, those resulting in “substantial injury” have also seen a significant increase. In 2023, these serious assaults made up 25 percent of major crimes on NYC trains, a stark contrast to 2019 when the same type of assaults accounted for only 15 percent of major crimes on trains.

This surge in violence is not limited to the general public. In 2023, 100 police officers and 60 transit employees were assaulted in the subway system, a sharp increase from 2019 when 71 officers and 32 transit employees were assaulted.

Despite these alarming statistics, New York is ranked as the second state in the Union for gun control laws by Everytown for Gun Safety, an organization affiliated with Mike Bloomberg. The group describes the state as an “innovator” on gun control.

New York’s extensive gun control measures include an “assault weapons” ban, a “high capacity” magazine ban, universal background checks, a red flag law, gun storage requirements, “ghost gun” regulations, a microstamping requirement for new handguns, stringent open carry regulations, a ban on being armed for self-defense on college campuses, and a ban on teachers or school staff being armed on K-12 campuses for classroom defense, among other controls.

Despite these stringent measures, the city’s crime rates continue to rise, leading to criticisms from figures like Jim Jordan, who accused DA Alvin Bragg at a NYC Crime Hearing of caring “More About Perpetrators Than Victims”.

The escalating crime rates in New York City, particularly in its subway system, raise questions about the effectiveness of the city’s strict gun control laws and the leadership of its Democrat administration. As the city grapples with this surge in violence, the debate on gun control and crime prevention continues to intensify.

lawyers are the largest contributors to the Democratic party. They don’t want to stop crime, they make money every time a criminal goes to court. that is the main reason they don’t want you to shoot their bread and butter. What’s worse, you are paying for it. Your taxes are footing the bill for people committing crimes but have no money. So they keep pushing bills to deprive law abiding people of protection and they just keep getting richer. Why do you think lawyers make up most of the folks that run for office, to push the legislation that lawyers want and you end up paying for.
