January 1, REVOLT: GOP Leaders PANIC Over Conservative Rebellion on Massive Spending Bill

Wyatt’s Take
- Republican leadership is scrambling to contain a growing conservative uprising against the SAVE America Act spending package
- Internal talking points reveal establishment desperation to ram through legislation that grassroots conservatives are rejecting
- This fight exposes the deep divide between swamp Republicans and America First conservatives who actually want to cut spending
Republican leadership is in full damage control mode as conservative members threaten to blow up support for the so-called SAVE America Act. Internal documents obtained exclusively show GOP establishment figures frantically circulating talking points designed to silence dissent and force the massive spending bill through.
The talking points memo reveals just how worried party bosses are about losing control of their own caucus. Conservative members have been raising alarm bells about the bill’s price tag and questioning whether it actually delivers on promises to drain the swamp and cut wasteful spending.
Trump says “I haven’t even thought of” the idea of replacing John Thune as Senate GOP leader. Says he has a “good relationship” with Thune but “he’s got to get his job done.” https://t.co/uLxnCcyfJl

Instead of addressing those legitimate concerns, leadership is trying to browbeat members into falling in line. The memo instructs Republicans on exactly what to say to defend the legislation and warns them about straying from the approved narrative.
This is classic Washington playbook stuff. When the establishment can’t win on the merits, they resort to arm-twisting and manipulation. They’re more interested in passing something — anything — than actually delivering real reform that working Americans are demanding.
The revolt brewing among conservative lawmakers represents a fundamental split in the Republican Party. On one side, you’ve got the old guard who care more about keeping donors happy and maintaining their committee assignments. On the other, you’ve got fighters who actually believe in the limited government principles they campaign on.
Grassroots conservative groups have been flooding congressional offices with calls opposing the SAVE America Act. They see it as just another bloated spending package dressed up with patriotic language. The gap between what leadership is selling and what the base is buying has never been wider.
The internal talking points also reveal leadership’s strategy for dealing with media scrutiny. They’re coaching members to avoid specifics about the bill’s actual contents and instead stick to vague platitudes about supporting America and standing strong.
What leadership doesn’t seem to understand is that conservative voters are done with business as usual. They didn’t send representatives to Washington to rubber-stamp whatever party bosses want. They want fighters who will stand up to the establishment even when it’s uncomfortable.
The timing of this revolt couldn’t be worse for Republican leadership. With elections looming, they’re desperate to show they can govern and deliver results. But ramming through a spending bill that conservatives hate isn’t the kind of result that energizes the base.
This fight will be a test of whether the Republican Party belongs to its grassroots or its establishment. Every member will have to decide whether they’re going to listen to the voters back home or the power brokers in Washington.
Why It Matters
Working families sent conservatives to Washington to stop reckless spending and drain the swamp, not to cave to establishment pressure. When party bosses have to circulate secret talking points to shut down their own members, you know something’s broken. Real Americans are tired of watching so-called conservatives talk tough on the campaign trail then fold like cheap suits once they get to D.C.

I don’t what possible reason Trump could give for keeping John Thune in his position, but the rest of us have had it with him. He obviously does not want to work together with Trump and other conservatives to get the SAVE America Act passed. Get rid of him! Put someone in his place that actually wants to cooperate with Trump and wants to work. Playtime is OVER!

Thune was a RINO when he got the majority leader job. Calculated?? Probably. I really do not think that they are naive enough to believe that if the Dems/Socialists/Communists took back the majority that they would not immediately get rid of the filibuster. They would and the Country would be finished as we know it. Hard choices need to be made in a very short period of time. They know what they need to do, but it will effect some of their income streams in an adverse manner. Why are they in the job if that is the only reason they are there?

The save act is more legislation that ‘fixes’ a problem that is non-existent. It potentially disenfranchises many seniors and others who may have difficulty accessing birth certificates. We need to focus on legislation that actually fixes a problem, not laws that the ass in the Oval Office wants. But speaking of the budget-which this article is about-Republicans have no idea how to balance (or even meet) a budget. Notably is the money that the drunken DoD secretary says he needs so he can carry on trumps wasteful actions in the Middle East-such a clusterfuck we have in the WH…

I’m a senior. I need a birth certificate to get a passport or a digital Driver’s license. It took a week.
That is not a reason to play the Democrats’ game against the Save America Act.
We Conservative Constitutionalists have “0” say in this Congress right now. The only way we get it is to vote out RINOs who are modern-day slavers.

The elections are very important to our country. Without elections, we don’t have a country. The SAVE AMRICA ACT is legislation that is to protect the voting in our election. Senior’s know how to use ID’s and show Birth Certificates. We want our Government free from democrat Communism which is destroying our very fabric of life. The whole argument is to SAVE OUR COUNTRY FROM COMMUNISM.

This country is already lost to the communist Democrats.
