Texas authorities are searching for a man suspected of murdering a woman who went missing the night of her birthday celebration in July.
Houston police said they issued an arrest warrant for Jordan Potts, 26, in connection with the murder of Shawtyeria Waites.
Waites, 21, was last seen alive at an area apartment complex the night of July 25, according to police. Friends dropped her off to meet a man. Waites’ friends were unable to reach her an hour later, and she was reported missing two days later.
Waites was out celebrating her birthday with two friends earlier in the night when they met Potts, who invited them back to his apartment.
Potts’ whereabouts are unknown at this time.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Houston police at 713-308-3600 or Houston Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
