President Donald Trump has made it clear he had nothing to do with federal agents showing up at a Democrat congresswoman’s door. The president told reporters he finds the lawmaker to be totally crooked personally, but he denied any role in the operation.

Trump’s running mate, Senator JD Vance, also pushed back hard against claims that the administration directed the raid. Both men said the FBI acts independently and does not take orders from the White House on criminal matters.

Democrats quickly pointed fingers at the administration anyway. They accused Trump of weaponizing federal agencies against political opponents even though no proof has surfaced linking the president to the timing or decision to search the home.

“I had nothing to do with it,” Trump stated plainly. “But I do find her to be totally crooked personally.”

The comments come as Democrats try to turn the raid into a campaign issue. They claim the timing shows political motivation, though officials have not released details about what investigators were seeking.
