January 1, Media Greenlights Violence Against Conservatives

Wyatt’s Take

  • The Left pushes the idea that words they don’t like are violence.
  • Big media outlets frame conservatives as enemies, fueling anger and real attacks.
  • Voices like Coates and Hannah-Jones spread divisive messages without being held to account.

The Left says that disagreeing with their views is a kind of violence, which they use to justify real violence against folks they oppose. Media leaders like The New York Times give these ideas a loud megaphone, making it seem okay to attack those you don’t agree with.

After Charlie Kirk was killed, there were opinion pieces blaming capitalism for his death and painting radicals as heroes. Some writers at The New York Times praised those who’ve supported violence against conservatives.

Prominent voices like Ta-Nehisi Coates criticized people who mourned Charlie, acting like showing sadness was wrong because of his beliefs. Coates repeatedly called America racist and attacked Kirk’s views, twisting his words and reputation.

Nikole Hannah-Jones wrote about Kirk and, when corrected on historical mistakes in her 1619 Project, claimed her critics were just attacking her because she’s Black. She even celebrated riots linked to her messaging.

By promoting these divisive stories, elite publications fuel real hatred and help build permission for violence against anyone outside their approved line of thinking.

A country can’t stay free or fair if folks are afraid to speak up, or if violence is seen as a normal answer to disagreement. We have to stand up for civil debates and basic respect, no matter who is in the crosshairs.
