January 1, Lt. Gov Urges Residents to Host Illegal Immigrants in Their Homes

Published

on

Massachusetts is reeling from the ongoing effects of unchecked immigration policies, leading Lt. Governor Kim Driscoll to call on private citizens to open their homes to illegal immigrants.

The state’s public shelter system is bursting at the seams, prompting Governor Maura Healey to declare a state of emergency earlier this week.

Lt. Governor Driscoll remarked in a recent press conference, “This is not a crisis that our family shelter system was designed to handle.”

While officials in Massachusetts have been straining to manage the situation, Driscoll admitted, “We really need to bring more people into this work to make it a true team effort.”

She then went on to appeal to private homeowners: “If you have an extra room or suite in your home, please consider hosting a family. Safe housing and shelter is our most pressing need.”

Yet, shouldn’t this urgent need be a testament to the consequence of poor immigration policies and mismanagement at the federal level?

According to a press release from Governor Healey’s office, the alarming influx of migrant families has stretched Massachusetts’ resources thin.

“There are currently nearly 5,600 families or more than 20,000 individuals in state shelter, including children and pregnant women.”

Governor Healey tried to shift the blame, pointing fingers at federal immigration policies and past housing shortages.

She noted, “This state of emergency arises from numerous factors, among them federal policies on immigration and work authorization, inadequate production of affordable housing over the last decade, and the end of COVID-era food and housing security programs.”

Healey emphatically stated, “The need for action is urgent.”

Furthermore, she dubbed it a “national issue”, asserting that the federal government should expedite work authorizations for illegal immigrants to tackle the problem.

But isn’t the real issue here the state’s incapacity to handle the consequences of its own open-arms policy?

The historical perspective isn’t lost on us. This isn’t the first time governments have pressured citizens into housing foreigners.

We’re reminded of Britain’s oppressive Quartering Act of 1774, which forced American colonists to accommodate British soldiers. Such an act was so detested that America’s founders outlawed it via the Third Amendment to the Constitution.

This crisis is not just Massachusetts’ to bear. Cities and states with sanctuary policies are grappling with similar predicaments.

Even in New York City, hotels are being retrofitted to address this crisis, yet they’ve issued warnings stating, “There is no guarantee we will be able to provide shelter and services to new arrivals … Please consider another city as you make your decision about where to settle in the US.”

Interestingly, Massachusetts stands alone as the sole state in the nation with a right-to-shelter policy, obliging them to offer emergency housing to those in need.

It begs the question: Is Massachusetts’ noble intent paving the way for its own housing and financial crisis?

Bottom Line

In the end, while compassion is important, the rule of law and the protection of citizens must be paramount.

Expecting citizens to remedy the situation, by taking illegal immigrants into their homes, might be a bridge too far for many, and serves as a stark reminder of the potential consequences of unchecked policies.

Governor Healey, lead the way. You’re so gung-ho on housing federal criminal lawbreakers at the expense and safety of your residents, I dare you to open your home to such people. And since this is the Democrats embracing these “new voters,” force every registered Democrat in your state to house these people and financially support them – not other American taxpayers.

Charity begins at home. Let the MA Go ernor first open up her Governor Bungalow for Immigrants, then ALL State-Buildings, then select Democrat families of the MA, randomly or Lottery system. Hope that will be more than enough for MA share of immigrants. t the same time talk to Biden to secure the border.

When our Primadonnas in our Government who live in large beautiful, fenced estates take illegals to live in their homes, I might consider it but until that time comes, which it never will, I have no desire to open my home. We here in Texas see how they choose to live and how they have no respect for themselves or where they live or who is helping them and what is being done for them right now, forget it.

There is a simple solution to this gals problem-shut the border-send the illegals home-bill anyone who supported this fiasco to pay for the clean-up! Implement the military to get rid of the cartel and put people in office that actually care about We the People! Term limits would really help as well-these politicians aren’t getting rich from the salaries we pay them……..

I think it would be a great idea that all these Government leaders putting this crisis on the American people should take in the illegals. First of all we the taxpayers of the state pay for, the Governor’s Mansion should house them and yes the White House and Vice President’s home any home that is taxpayer funded should have the illegals

This is just another of the idiot Biden administration’s failures for the people of this country. I do not care if you’re a Democrat/Republican/Independent etc. we need to vote out all of these morons and take our country back. If you voted for this shame on you but we are now sliding toward a civil war because of the left.

The real problem here is they are “illegal ” which seems to mean nothing to our state officials! Close the borders and have them come here “legally”! They should all be deported! 7 million have come here since Covid 19. No masks, no steps taken to even stop them since Biden became our illegal president! There is so much corruption going on in our country and no one is doing anything about it! Wake up America and bring back the most Patriotic and honest president we ever had! He did more for our country in 4 years than anyone!

The right to shelter policy was for AMERICAN CITIZENS who needed help NOT FOR AN INVADING ARMY. The only answer Massachusetts has is to RETURN THESE ILLEGAL INVADERS BACK TO THEIR OWN COUNTRIES. It’s past time to end this disgraceful attack on our country. These invaders must be returned to their own country and leave us alone. If their own country isn’t worth fighting for, what are they doing here?

How MANY ILLEGALS is the Lt Governor taking in? and supporting on HER DIME?! How many of these illegals has the Lt Governor or Governor “vetted?” And if these illegals rob, assault or “rape” the citizens, can the home owner SUE the governor/Lt governor? Will the Lt governor or governor accept responsibility for whatever crimes these unvetted illegals commit, even if they ‘murder’ the homeowner resident or any family member??!!

So, a Democrat urging people to break the law, to become criminals by harboring criminals. Hey, while your at it, spark-up a doobie with ’em! But don’t dare arm yourself to protect your home & family from ’em, ’cause this is the Commiewealth of Assachusetts, where the Constitution and federal law have no meaning.
