Leftists Freak Out After DeSantis Sends Migrants to Martha’s Vineyard
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) sent two planes full of migrants to Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts, earlier this week, and leftists are apoplectic.
Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton decried the move, saying it was “literally human trafficking.”
“Some politicians would rather not only have an issue but exacerbate it to the extent of literally human trafficking,” Clinton said on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.”
DeSantis sent two planes full of migrants from Texas on Wednesday to Martha’s Vineyard. The move echoes Gov. Greg Abbott (R-TX), who has bused migrants to Washington, D.C., New York, and Chicago this year.
“These are real people we’re playing with. These are real live people with children and older people,” said Whoopi Goldberg, co-host of “The View.” “We can work it out, but if you’re going to be a bonehead, who wants to play with you? Call me crazy, but I don’t understand why you gotta be nasty about it.”
White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said the move is “an illegal stunt.”
“What they are doing is an illegal stunt, is a political stunt. And it’s really just disrespectful to humanity. It doesn’t afford them any dignity, what they’re doing when you are abandoning families and children in a place where they were told they were going to get housing,” Jean-Pierre told reporters on Thursday. “It is just cruel, and it’s not about the process. Actually, It’s about a political tool or political stunt that they’re moving forward with.”
DeSantis hit back at the criticism, pointing out that the Biden administration secretly flew migrants around the country.
“Biden would fly people in the middle of the night, dump them all across this country. There was no warning on any of this,” DeSantis said, adding that the administration is “farming people out all around.”
“All of those people in D.C. and New York were beating their chests when Trump was president, saying they were so proud to be sanctuary jurisdictions, saying how bad it was to have a secure border,” he said.
“The minute even a small fraction of what those border towns deal with every day is brought to their front door, they all of a sudden go berserk, and they’re so upset that this is happening. It just shows you their virtue-signaling is a fraud.”
