Texas Governor Buses Migrants to Kamala Harris’s House

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) sent two busloads of migrants to a bus stop outside Vice President Kamala Harris’s residence.

Abbott approved the move after Harris asserted that the U.S.-Mexico border is “secure” in a recent interview. The Texas governor apparently took exception to the VP’s claim and brought the problem she’s ignoring to her front door.

“The Biden-Harris Administration continues ignoring and denying the historic crisis at our southern border, which has endangered and overwhelmed Texas communities for almost two years,” Abbott said in a statement.

“Our supposed Border Czar, Vice President Kamala Harris, has yet to even visit the border to see firsthand the impact of the open border policies she has helped implement, even going so far as to claim the border is ‘secure,’” he added. “Texas will continue sending migrants to sanctuary cities like Washington, D.C. until President Biden and Border Czar Harris step up and do their jobs to secure the border.”

Harris insisted to NBC’s “Meet the Press” this week that “the border is secure.” Host Chuck Todd pressed Harris, pointing out that 2 million people will cross the U.S. border for the first time this year.

The VP reiterated that the border is “secure” and emphasized that many of the problems stem from the Trump administration.

“We have a secure border in that that is a priority for any nation, including ours, and our administration,” Harris said. “But there are still a lot of problems that we are trying to fix given the deterioration that happened over the last four years.”

Texas Governor Orders National Guard to Return Illegal Immigrants to Border

ON THIS DAY IN HISTORY…
1778: American Revolution – Louis XVI of France declares war on the Kingdom of Great Britain.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) directed the Lone Star state’s National Guard and Department of Public Safety to “return illegal immigrants to the border.”

“I issued an Executive Order authorizing the Texas National Guard & Texas Dept. of Public Safety to return illegal immigrants to the border,” Abbott said.

“Cartels have become emboldened by Biden’s open border policies. Texas is taking unprecedented action to STOP this criminal enterprise.”

In a press release, Abbott cited the Biden administration’s decision to end Title 42 expulsions and “the Remain in-Mexico policy.”

“While President Biden refuses to do his job and enforce the immigration laws enacted by Congress, the State of Texas is once again stepping up and taking unprecedented action to protect Americans and secure our southern border,” Abbott said in a statement.

“The cartels have become emboldened and enriched by President Biden’s open border policies, smuggling in record numbers of people, weapons, and deadly drugs like fentanyl.”

Texas Governor Blames Deadly Incident on Biden

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) blamed President Joe Biden and his immigration policies after at least 46 individuals were found dead in an 18-wheeler in San Antonio.

“These deaths are on Biden,” Abbott tweeted. “They are a result of his open border policies. They show the deadly consequences of his refusal to enforce the law.”

Abbott wasn’t the only Texas lawmaker to blame Biden’s immigration policies for the tragic deaths.

“Horrific,” Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) wrote on Twitter.

“How many more people have to die before Dems give a damn?” he asked, adding the hashtag “BidenBorderCrisis.”

However, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre pushed back against the accusation.

“The fact of the matter is, the border is closed, which is in part why you see people trying to make this dangerous journey using smuggling networks,” Jean-Pierre told reporters.

“Our hearts go out to the families at this time. We are going to stay focused on the facts and making sure we hold these smugglers accountable.”

Texas Gov. Introduces ‘Parental Bill of Rights’

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) unveiled plans for a new “Parental Bill of Rights,” giving parents more control over their children’s education.

The bill would amend the Lone Star State’s constitution to “reinforce that parents are the primary decision makers in all matters involving their children.”

“When it comes to the classroom, Texas parents should have every right to know what their children are being taught,” Abbott said.

“Under my plan, we will expand parents’ access to course curriculum, and all material that is available in schools. Also, we will ensure that if a parent has a concern about curriculum or policies, that those concerns are heard quickly and respectfully.”

Abbott said that a main tenet of his Parental Bill of Rights is to protect children while they’re in school, which includes protecting them from content deemed inappropriate for the classroom.

“Under this plan, Texas will also ensure that any educational personnel convicted of providing minors with pornographic materials will lose all their educational credentials and state licensing, plus forfeit their retirement benefits and be placed on the do not hire list,” he said.

Texas Begins Construction of Border Wall

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) kicked off construction of the state’s border wall.

Abbott held a press conference for the debut, joined by various state officials who spoke about the state’s progress regarding the US-Mexico border.

“In June, I promised Texans that we would step up in the federal government’s absence and build our own border wall,” Abbott said.

“We have wasted no time in the six months since that promise was made, and I am proud to announce that construction of the Texas border wall is now underway. Today not only represents the first phase of the Texas border wall, but it also serves as a major milestone in our efforts to combat illegal immigration, stop the smuggling of drugs and people, and keep our communities safe.”

In September, Abbott signed a nearly $1.8 billion border security bill into law, earmarking $750 million for the border wall.

Private donations are also funding the project, with over $54 million in donations as of December 13.

“The Texas border wall is officially up. While Biden does nothing, we are stepping up to protect our communities,” Abbott wrote on Twitter.

“The Lone Star State is securing the border.”

Texas governor calls for removal of ‘pornographic’ books from school libraries

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) is calling on the state’s school board association to “ensure no child is exposed to pornography or other inappropriate content in a Texas public school.”

Abbott outlined his request in a letter to the executive director of the Texas Association of School Boards.

“A growing number of parents of Texas students are becoming increasingly alarmed about some of the books and other content found in public school libraries that are extremely inappropriate in the public education system,” Abbott wrote. “The most flagrant examples include clearly pornographic images and substance that have no place in the Texas public education system.”

The governor of the Lone Star State didn’t specify which material he was referencing.

The association didn’t publicly respond to Abbott’s letter. However, a spokesperson told NPR that the group was “confused” given that it “has no regulatory authority over school districts and does not set the standards for instructional materials, including library books.”

In lieu of a border wall, Texas governor implements “steel barrier”

Amid the migrant crisis in Texas, Gov. Greg Abbott said law enforcement officials implemented a “steel barrier” of vehicles to block migrants from crossing the border.

“They have created a steel barrier preventing people from being able to cross the border,” Abbott said at a press conference Tuesday.

“One day there were countless people coming across the border, then the very same day the Texas Department of Public Safety put up all these DPS vehicles, and suddenly, in an instant, people stopped crossing the border in this location. That strategy is working.”

Abbott said the vehicular barrier is “miles” long. The Lone Star state’s governor said the Biden administration is “promoting and allowing open border policies.”

“The only thing they’ve shown is an incapability of dealing with this crisis, candidly in a way where they pretend it doesn’t even exist,” the Republican governor said at a press conference. “And we’re here to tell you, it exists and it’s total chaos and the Biden administration — they need to up their game, big time.”

Gov. Greg Abbott signs more abortion restrictions, penalties into law

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) quietly signed a bill that further limits abortion access in the Lonestar state.

Senate Bill 4 bars doctors from providing abortion-inducing medication to women seven or more weeks pregnant. The new law comes amid the controversial Senate Bill 8, subject to scrutiny from pro-choice activists.

“Anti-choice politicians in Texas are launching their attacks on abortion access from every angle imaginable,” said Adrienne Kimmel, head of NARAL Pro-Choice America. “This law blatantly tramples on Texans’ fundamental freedoms and pushes access to care further out of reach.”

The new bill takes effect in December, and violations are punishable by up to $10,000 in fines and two years in prison.
