These fighters from Iraq’s Kurdistan region challenge a government long against their people. The move cuts need for American or Israeli troops on the ground.
A US official said Kurds sow chaos to stretch Iranian forces thin. They might hold northern Iran as a buffer for Israel.
A US official said the Kurds would be used to help sow chaos and distraction in the region, stretching the Iranian military’s resources away from its retaliatory attacks on US bases in surrounding countries, and weakening it.

Kurds draw out IRGC troops and hopefully they have contact with the US or Israel to roll in and strike with cluster munitions. Next wave of Iran military- same thing. They need to be supplied by air too. Use them to keep drawing out the Iranians into the open. Send more into a different region. Same thing. Maybe some Iranians will want to start settling the score for the tens of thousands of innocent people slaughtered by the fanatic IRGC. Arm them too. Next up- start blowing the Iranian submarines out of the water. They have Russian Kilo-class subs and Uranian copies. Why aren’t they imploded scrap metal on the bottom on the Arabian Gulf yet?
