Wyatt’s Take

  • Tourists can use the map to see honest grades for each location.
  • Most sites haven’t been graded yet, and the project starts with the original 13 colonies.
  • The Foundation wants every listed site graded by next summer.

The Heritage Foundation is helping folks plan their travels for America’s big 250th birthday. Their new map rates historic sites so families know the real story behind each place they visit.

Sites that share the full truth get an A, while places that leave out details or miss the spirit of America drop to B or C grades. Brenda Hafera from the Heritage Foundation put it simply:

“Now, families can go to the places where history really happened, equipped with additional resources that enrich the experience and provide confidence and accountability.”

The grading helps folks know if a museum covers the facts or pushes a different story, which matters with the nation’s 250th on the way.

If you want to make sure your trip is worth it, this map might be the tool heartland families need.
