January 1, GOP Wields Big Cash Lead Over Democrats

Wyatt’s Take
- RNC has over $95 million cash to spend
- Democrats trail with much less in the bank
- Republicans outpace Democrats in fundraising
The Republican Party enters the midterm season with a strong cash advantage. The RNC holds $95.1 million cash-on-hand, while the DNC reports just $14 million.
Filings show the GOP has no debt heading into this campaign stretch. Meanwhile, the DNC is $3.5 million in debt.
Republicans also raised more money for the House, bringing in $117.2 million, while Democrats brought in $115 million for their House campaigns.
Senate Democrats have slightly more cash on hand, at $21.7 million, but Senate Republicans fired up donors and raised $88 million, outpacing the Democrats’ $79.8 million last year.
Big war chests mean more muscle across swing states and tight races. Democrats may now have to play catch-up to keep pace as campaigns heat up.
Stay alert, folks—this fight is just beginning and every dollar counts.
