Wyatt’s Take
- The FBI finally caught the person behind the January 6 pipe bombs.
- President Trump helped Rwanda and Congo agree to real peace.
- The border battle rages online with new misinformation fights.
The FBI arrested a suspect for planting pipe bombs near political party offices on January 5, 2021. Officials credit the determination of law enforcement since President Trump took office.
Attorney General Pam Bondi said, “The FBI, along with U.S Attorney Pirro and all of our prosecutors, have worked tirelessly for months sifting through evidence that had been sitting at the FBI with the Biden administration for four long years.”
FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino said, “You’re not going to walk into our capital city, put down two explosive devices, and walk off in the sunset. Not gonna happen. We were gonna track this person to the end of the earth.”
The man charged is Brian Cole Jr. from Virginia, facing serious federal charges over the crime. Investigators linked him by tracking purchases for bomb parts and using phone and license plate data.
Meanwhile, President Trump brought leaders from Rwanda and Congo together to sign a peace deal after years of conflict. Both countries agreed to a permanent ceasefire, with Rwanda pulling troops out of Congo and both sides cutting ties with militias.
Congolese President Felix Tshisekedi said, “I would like to express, quite solemnly, our deep thanks to the President of the United States of America, Mr. Donald Trump. I would like to thank his administration, and I also wish to thank the American people.”
The agreement could boost American interests, as both nations hold large stores of rare minerals vital for manufacturing.
Congress, meanwhile, is looking into accusations of wrongdoing after a military strike against suspected drug boats. Military leaders say no illegal orders were given, and footage reportedly shows the attackers trying to keep drugs from reaching U.S. shores. Democrats see it differently, calling for more scrutiny and open access to the video.
On immigration, the fight is going digital. After a deadly attack in D.C., the Trump administration is pushing tougher enforcement. Mainstream voices claim many detainees are held without cause, but the Department of Homeland Security says most face criminal charges or convictions.
The battle for the border isn’t just on the ground—it’s being fought in newsrooms and on social media.
