January 1, Don Lemon Tries Civil Rights Hero Role After Arrest

Wyatt’s Take
- Don Lemon got arrested at a Minnesota church after leading a protest during a service.
- He says his civil rights were violated, but he’s being charged for violating the churchgoers’ rights.
- Families at the church faced chaos and fear when protesters stormed in.
Don Lemon’s recent arrest didn’t stop him from making the media rounds, painting himself as a civil rights leader. The government says he and others broke the law by disrupting a church service while protesting a pastor’s ties to ICE.
Lemon now claims the charges violate his First Amendment rights. The law is charging him with interfering with religious freedom and intimidation. When speaking out, he compared his situation to historic civil rights struggles.
“Can you imagine the state having control of your freedom, simply because they don’t like that you are doing your job?” Lemon asked.
He added, “So that was very frightening to me. But in my time when I was there, I thought about all the people who had come before me. I thought about all of the people who fought for civil rights, who fought for gay rights. All of the people who were at Stonewall.”
“Those are the real heroes,” Lemon continued. “And so what’s happening to me, I have at least in this time that I’m living now, more agency, more resources, more rights…than the people who were fighting for our freedom and our civil rights.”
During this, Lemon ignored how his group’s actions affected families at Cities Church. Protesters stopped parents from picking up their children, shouted at kids until they cried, and a woman was hurt trying to escape. Lemon labeled upset churchgoers as “white supremacists.”
Most of the leaders Lemon wants to be compared to never put innocent folks through that kind of fear.
If you care about religious freedom and law and order, keep alert for more on this story.
Wyatt Matters
Folks in the heartland know church is a safe haven, not a place for political showdowns or intimidation. Protecting faith and family is common sense and a core part of who we are.

Lemon is a “Podcaster”, not a “Journalist”! He was at that church for a photo-op because he can’t stand not being in front of a camera. He’s a “has-been”!
