Wyatt’s Take

  • Sheridan Gorman, a Loyola University student, was killed in a tragedy that has sparked outrage.
  • The suspect was reportedly caught and released by federal agents twice before the murder.
  • ICE has lodged a detainer, and critics say sanctuary policies helped put a dangerous man back on the streets.

The Biden administration released a Venezuelan illegal immigrant who later killed 18-year-old student Sheridan Gorman.

This tragedy was entirely preventable if our borders were actually secured and laws were enforced.

The suspect, Jose Medina-Medina, first crossed the border in May 2023.

Federal agents caught him but let him walk right into the American heartland.

A month later, he was arrested again for shoplifting.

Despite his criminal history, he was released a second time back onto our streets.

Sheridan Gorman was a student at Loyola University with her whole life ahead of her.

She was shot while trying to run away from her attacker.

Sheridan Gorman had her whole life ahead of her before this cold-blooded killer decided to end her life,

said DHS official Lauren Bis.

She was failed by open border policies and sanctuary politicians who RELEASED this illegal alien TWICE before he went on to commit this heinous murder.

ICE has now lodged a detainer to keep the killer in custody.

However, Illinois sanctuary policies often ignore these requests and put criminals back on the road.

Governor J.B. Pritzker has faced criticism for his silence on the murder.

His office responded by claiming the tragedy is being politicized rather than addressing the policy failures.

There should be NO SUCH THING as a so called sanctuary state or city in this country. Illegal immigrant criminals should be deported IMMEDIATELY, along with the other illegal aliens.
