January 1, Dallas ICE Attack Signals Deadly New Trend
Wyatt’s Take
- Attackers are now engraving bullets and weapons with political messages.
- The Dallas ICE shooting is part of a troubling pattern.
- Authorities warn rhetoric may be fueling violence against law enforcement.
A sniper attacked a Dallas ICE facility on Wednesday, killing one detainee and injuring others. Engraved ammo with the words “anti-ICE” was found at the scene, pointing to a political motive.
FBI Director Kash Patel shared,
“One of the unspent shell casings recovered was engraved with the phrase ‘ANTI ICE.’ More updates will be forthcoming.”
Patel called the shooting part of a trend, referencing a recent attack near Prarieland. He warned,
“These despicable, politically motivated attacks against law enforcement are not a one-off.”
The practice of marking weapons with messages has become more common among shooters with political motives. Maine Republican Bobby Charles spoke about this rise in violence, explaining,
“This is an overt and covert effort to turn political dialogue into violence… They want chaos. And that’s the way, that’s the way communist revolutions begin.”
In the Dallas case, the shooter killed himself as police closed in. Officials identified him as Joshua Jahn, age 29. The presence of engraved shells drew reactions online, with some noting this disturbing trend.
Rift TV host Elijah Shaffer asked,
“So everyone is just engraving bullets before murders now?”
Influencer Laura Loomer said,
“ANTIFA has made Bullet Casing Manifestos the new trend of 2025.”
DHS Secretary Kristi Noem connected these attacks to anti-ICE rhetoric, arguing such talk has real-world consequences. She said,
“These horrendous killings must serve as a wake-up call to the far-left that their rhetoric about ICE has consequences… The men and women of ICE are fathers and mothers, sons and daughters. They get up every morning to try and make our communities safer.”
This isn’t the first high-profile shooting linked to engravings. Recently, Tyler Robinson, accused killer of Charlie Kirk, also used bullets with messages. In another incident, the Annunciation Catholic School shooter wrote phrases like “kill Donald Trump” on a rifle.
These acts show an alarming shift from heated words to deadly violence, with law enforcement and conservatives increasingly in the crosshairs.
